In 2017, United Way published a paper indicating the Puna district had the highest Asset-Limited-Income-Constrained-Employed (ALICE) population in the State of Hawaii at 78%. This was prior to the Kīlauea eruption that further devastated our community and economy. As our families and businesses were just beginning to recover from the negative impacts from the 2018 flow, COVID-19 emerged. Mindful Living continues to be committed to doing our part to offer assistance.
Founded in 2017, Mindful Living is a non-profit based in the Puna District on Hawaii Island. Our mission is simply to empower our community and serve those in need to make a positive impact on people and the planet. We partner with other local organizations and individuals, leveraging our experiences, skill-set, network and resources to enable others to achieve their goals. Our primary areas of service include: technical assistance with grants, mentorship for individuals and community leaders, consulting for small organizations and project and database management.
